Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev won his initial trophy for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging year, achieving just one win at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in especial - caused him exiting of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial trophy since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court after spring of 2023.
The win also means he has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
His defensive play style and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to question if his capacity to play at the elite level was concluded.
However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and play positively, backed up by an improved service.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the final five points to take the lead.
The competitors swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his initial ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to push for a decider.
Moutet saved four initial chances in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched victory with a point at the net, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
